CEO/President

David Christensen

David has spent his professional life as an educator, entrepreneur, author, and in executive leadership of Non Profit Organizations.  As an educator, he has taught at the secondary and university levels, as well as, a corporate trainer for several Fortune 100 companies.  He has been principal in real estate ventures and other businesses. He has authored 7 books.  In addition, he served in volunteer missionary executive roles for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Chile and Guatemala as well as serving as a full-time missionary in Mexico for two years in his young adult life. 

 

Before his current role at Escuela San Mateo, he served the previous decade in the Non-Profit sector.  First, as CEO for One-Life-At-A-Time and Lifting Generations, then as Senior Advisor for Mentors International with special emphasis in Special Projects.  He is also CEO/President of Fundación San Mateo which operates two secondary schools in the Alta Verapaz of Guatemala.

 

He is the author of the book “Inner Victory”, which has been the focus of three ‘mindset change’ courses used at the university and secondary levels.  Courses are currently utilized  in 14 countries in the non-profit sector.  His other books are faith-oriented works.

 

He is active in his church, serving in many roles.  Currently he serves several hours each week in his churches temple program.  Most importantly, he counts as his greatest accomplishment his 50+ year relationship with his wife Deena, his special family of eight children, thirty grandchildren, and a growing number of great grandchildren. Additionally, he feels blessed by the addition of two ‘bonus’ children & their families who he and his wife include as their own.

 

He has BS and MS degrees from Brigham Young University.  He was on the Faculty of Brigham Young University-Idaho for twenty-three years.  He and his wife currently reside in Lindon, Utah.
